The official website of Startup India has unlocked up a feedback method for all shareholders of the startup bionetwork to give their opinions on ranking of union territories and states based on the achievements made in the execution of their startup rules.
“While the constraints have been made open and we are inviting response on state ranking from the universal public, we anticipate the last ranking of states to be declared by next year June,” claimed a government administrator to the media needing to stay unnamed.
The department of industrial promotion and policy, which is the nodal body for execution of the Startup India policy of central government, had been operating on making factors for ranking states and has now made them open on the portal of startup India.
Since Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, rolled out the Startup India scheme in January 2016with 19 action points, almost 15 states have so far declared their startup regulations in the past 1 Year.
These comprise Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Four states namely Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Kerala had a startup policy prior to the roll out of the Startup India action scheme.
The different factors to be measured for ranking states fall below these heads, infrastructure support, easing compliance and hand holding with regulations, human capital development as well as research and development support, fiscal incentives and capital raising support, and promoting international exposure and marketing support to state startups.
For this exercise, all initiatives and actions commenced by states on or before March 2018 will be measured. Some of the factors, which was necessary for states to have a definite startup policy operating, include having a startup helpline or cell and a web or mobile portal to act as a “one stop shop” for all inquiries on starting up, the size of the mentor network made by the state government for businesses, and also the number of main current players for incubation backing to startups.
Well, the feedback mechanism is going to be very helpful in the coming period to the nation.
